New horizons in the management of SMA

WELCOME
Welcome to the CME-accredited International Expert Meeting on spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) management, entitled New horizons in the management of SMA. This interactive educational meeting will include plenary lectures, lively panel discussions, and interactive workshop sessions on real-life patient cases, to stimulate exchange with leading experts in SMA and to translate learnings into clinical practice.

The main topics covered during this meeting will be: early diagnosis of SMA; the evolving treatment landscape, with a focus on novel treatments in clinical practice; and the optimal local implementation of multidisciplinary management.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

After attending the meeting, participants will be able to:

  • Implement the optimal process for early diagnosis in SMA and make a case for early treatment initiation
  • Discuss novel and emerging treatment options for patients with SMA
  • Understand the clinical application of gene therapy for SMA
  • Develop a care plan based on current treatment guidelines for multidisciplinary management of SMA
  • Explain new developments in the management of SMA

TARGET AUDIENCE
This meeting is intended for neurologists and neuromuscular disease specialists responsible for the diagnosis and management of patients with SMA.
