Cure SMA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the treatment and cure of SMA. Since 1984, we’ve directed and invested in comprehensive research that has shaped the scientific community’s understanding of SMA and led to breakthroughs in treatment that will strengthen our children’s bodies, extend life, and lead to a cure.
To promote reduction of diagnostic delays, Cure SMA has launched SMArt Moves, a disease awareness and educational campaign to empower parents, pediatricians, and other health care professionals to promptly recognize and diagnose the early signs of SMA.
Central to the SMArt Moves effort is a special section dedicated to health care professionals, detailing current diagnostic criteria, educational resources, and the latest treatment options and protocols. In addition, parents also have access to an easy-to-use website that encourages parents to trust their instincts if they suspect a motor delay, because missed milestones may be a sign of a serious medical condition, like SMA. On the site, parents improve their understanding of the early signs of motor delays, watch instructional videos, and download a helpful checklist, including the hallmark signs of SMA to share with their doctor and help address their concerns.
This programme is organized by Ology, a global provider of independent medical education that develops CME initiatives for the international medical and scientific community.
